Eight Mile is a London engineering firm that builds software, runs infrastructure, installs networks and audits all three. Every job has a named lead who scoped it, and the engineers who did the work are the ones who answer when something breaks.
The story
Built by the people who were tired of being handed off.
Most small businesses buy their technology in pieces: a developer here, a network installer there, a cloud consultant who has never seen the office, and nobody who will say the problem is theirs when it sits between two of them. Eight Mile was set up to be the other kind of supplier — one team that covers software, infrastructure, networking and security from one desk, so a fault never stops at the edge of someone else's remit.
We run on what we build. TradeOps, the platform this site and our customers' sites run on, is our own quoting, scheduling and invoicing system, and the open-source tools on the projects page are the ones we reach for on client work. Every engagement follows the same three steps — survey, deliver, support — and every job is covered after it ships.
The leads
Every engagement has a named lead.
Ibi leads software and infrastructure, Ilgar leads networking. Each brings in the engineers a job needs and stays responsible for it from survey to support.

Software and infrastructure lead
Ibi builds the software and runs the infrastructure. AWS Professional and Specialty certified, Cisco CCNP, security cleared, and the engineer behind the platform this site runs on — TradeOps — as well as the open-source work on the projects page: Terraform providers, a LangGraph support agent, a semantic cache for language models.
Before Eight Mile he led development for public-sector and enterprise clients, which is where the habit of writing things down, testing before shipping and owning what you build after launch comes from.
Ilgar Gulamaliyev — networks
Senior network engineer
Ilgar designs, installs and supports the networks. Fifteen years as a senior network engineer, Cisco Certified Specialist in enterprise design, core and advanced infrastructure, with Ruckus, Ekahau and Meraki certifications for the wireless side.
He has built and maintained networks across financial services, oil and gas, healthcare, legal, government, leisure and the third sector, and works in English, Russian, Turkish and Azerbaijani.
